KOTA KINABALU: The body of a man in his 30s was found buried at the hill slope at Kampung Kiambalang in Inanam yesterday. He is believed to have been murdered.

Labourer Feltan Tujan stumbled on the body about 4pm while he was on the way to tap rubber located near the scene.

The 21-year-old said he was on the way to the rubber estate when he saw traces of blood on the road.

“I was shocked to discover the traces of blood which were more than 15 metres long. I then asked a man, who is a foreman of a building that is under construction for rearing bird’s nest about the blood but he ignored me and walked away.

“I then continued my way to the rubber estate,” he said when met at the scene.

Upon reaching the hill slope, Feltan said he noticed the ground had just being dug and it was covered with several pieces of wood.

Suspicious led him to have a closer look and he was shocked to see traces of blood at the area.

“I then informed my two friends who later related the matter to the employer,” he said.

Feltan said before the discovery, he heard workers of the construction site arguing.

“Earlier, I met the foreman who requested to send him, his wife and a kid to the bus station, saying that his family was not feeling well. He was in a hurry.

“My friend and I then sent them to the bus station but we did not know where they were heading to,” he said.

City police chief ACP Ahmad Sofi Zakaria when met at the scene, said they received a call from a member of the public about 4pm yesterday.

Acting on the information received, Ahmad Sofi said a police team was sent to the scene and discovered the body of the man buried at the hill slope.

“From initial investigation by the forensic team, there was an injury on the victim’s head but none was found on other parts of the body,” he said.

“At the moment we are still investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code,” he said, adding that the body was sent to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for post-mortem.
