Istana Negara to be listed as tourist attraction

KUALA LUMPUR: The newly opened Istana Negara at Jalan Duta here will be added into the tourism attraction products for the capital city besides Tun Abdul Razak Heritage Park and Perdana Botanical Garden, said Kuala Lumpur mayor Tan Sri Ahmad Fuad Ismail yesterday.

He said the introduction of the three new products for tourist attractions will be made soon after the introduction of Kuala Lumpur (KL) CityWalk located at the intersection of Jalan P Ramlee and Jalan Pinang, in the vicinity of Petronas Twin Tower.

Speaking when launching KL CityWalk, Ahmad Fuad said the pedestrian mall showcases the lifestyle of people in Kuala Lumpur as well Malaysian culture especially to foreign tourists.

“Located right in the city centre, surrounded by hotels, offices, entertainment outlets and shopping centres, KL CityWalk offers interesting outdoor experience for shopping, culture and food,” he added.

On the security level at the pedestrian mall, Ahmad Fuad said KL CityWalk is equipped with 95 sets of Close Circuit Television (CCTV) and 24-hour security surveillance besides providing easy access to Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on foot. — Bernama
