FATAL ACCIDENT: The victim is stretched out from the construction site by medical personnel to an ambulance.
KUCHING: Construction worker Abdillah Seli, 42, from Kampung Bintawa succumbed to bodily injury after falling down from a scaffolding at a construction site opposite Chung Hua Middle School No. 3 here.
According to his colleague who was with him on the two-storey high scaffolding, the accident happened at around 4pm when the wooden foot support Abdillah was standing on suddenly broke, causing him to fall to the ground.
At that time, they were fixing the aluminium window frame.
After receiving a report on the incident, an ambulance was sent to the scene to bring the victim to Sarawak General Hospital.
Although medical personnel in the ambulance tried to save his life, his heart stopped beating when they were on their way to the hospital.
Upon arrival at the hospital, the medical personnel again tried to save his life but to no avail.
Family members of the deceased were at the hospital after learning about the accident.
