KUCHING: In conjunction with the legendary King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley’s 77th birthday on Jan 8, an evening with four of the nation’s top Elvis tribute artistes will be held at Sapphire Executive Lounge Ban Hock Road on Jan 7.
The show is set to be a blast from the past. Three local Elvis artistes, namely Wilfred Vincent Ragam (or Elvince), the Elvis title holder of Sarawak in 1964 and 1965, Valentine Tawie Salok (or Elval), also known as Elvis Curled Lips of Penang, and Ges Barundang, currently Elvis Presley of Kuching, are set to rock the stage.
The show will also feature Elchris Gomes, the Elvis Presley of Kota Kinabalu, who will be specially flown here to entertain guests at the event.
INCLUDING HIM: Valentine Tawie Salok, or Elval, also known as Elvis Curled Lips of Penang, will also be featured.
These outstanding singers will mesmerise patrons with their swaying hips and caricature performances almost like
Elvis with songs like Suspicious Mind, Don’t Be Cruel, It’s Now or Never, Hurt, G.I. Blues, Girl Happy, Way Down and Gave Me A Mountain.
Tickets for the show to start at 7.30pm are priced at RM35 per person, inclusive of light refreshments and complimentary first drink.

Elvis Aaron Presley was born on Jan 8, 1935, to Vernon and Gladys Presley in a two-room wooden house in Tupelo, Mississippi. His twin brother Jesse Garon was stillborn, leaving Elvis to grow as an only child.
His singing career went golden with the release of ‘That’s Alright Mamma’ in 1956.
Elvis recorded 715 songs and sold 1.5 billion records, starred in 33 movies and won 14 awards during his life-time.
