Kho Ying Qi’s body was found at the river bank near a coal power station at Kampung Goebilt, Muara Tebas around 9am today.

Workers and their family who were searching for river snails spotted the body still clad in school uniform.

Official confirmation has not been received although it is believed her father confirmed the body through the car keys found in the pocket.

Kho went missing on the morning of Jan 5 after falling into a swollen monsoon drain during flash floods in the city.

A search-and-rescue operation was immediately launched to locate her and Herman Sihas, a petrol station worker who jumped into the drain to rescue her but ultimately drowned.

Herman’s body was found on Jan 7 along the river at Lorong Sungai Maong Ulu 3.
