SANTUBONG: The Sarawak Barisan Nasional (BN) must strive for a landslide victory in 13th general election to further strengthen its position in the government in the march towards Vision 2020, said State BN Youth chief Datuk Fadillah Yusof.

He said the state BN led by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) should be strengthened so that Sarawak would remain a BN stronghold in the next general election.

“With a big majority, it will be easier for us to chart the country’s development in our strive to achieve Vision 2020,” he said at the BN Petra Jaya parliamentary constituency retreat for 300 BN members from the Tupong state seat here yesterday.

Fadillah, who is also PBB Youth chief and Deputy Science, Technology and Innovation minister, said the Sarawak BN would ensure that the opposition’s quest to reduce the state BN majority, let alone wrest the state, into merely an elusive dream.

PBB vice-president and Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department Datuk Daud Abdul Rahman said while gearing up for the election, the state BN should focus on easing the burden of the people besides resolving their problems. – Bernama
