Search on for Borneo model in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: Jeffie Jeff, in collaboration with Breeze magazine, proudly presents a model search unlike any in Sabah.

The search is on to find Borneo’s next ‘it’ girl and make someone’s dream come true.

Jeffie Jeff, who is one of Kota Kinabalu’s top makeup artists have been in the industry since 2007.

Jeff has won several competitions and was even selected as the official makeup artist for Liz Davenport’s (Australia) fashion shoot in 2009. He is heavily involved in the arts whether it be in photography or dance.

Breeze, Borneo’s premier lifestyle magazine, highlights events, people and places in Sabah, while Jeff is the fashion director for Breeze magazine and he contributes monthly with the latest fashion and makeup through his photography and artistic styling of the fashion spread.

“The Breeze Model Search 2012 is about finding fresh faces, introducing them to the fashion industry and providing them with skills useful in the industry.

“This event will also help promote local talents and designers to a broader audience. It is also aimed at generating awareness towards local arts and culture through fashion,” a spokeswoman said in a press conference at Novotel meeting room, yesterday.

The theme of the Breeze Model Search is ‘Cultural meets Couture’.

The search itself will go through stages and contestants will be eliminated accordingly if they failed to meet the challenges set forth.

For the month of February, there will be a Breeze Borneo Fashion Festival followed by Talent Gala Night which will mark the semi finals in March and the grand finale, which coincides with the Breeze anniversary, at the end of March.

According to Breeze magazine managing director Sonny Ali who was at the press conference yesterday, the main prize for the event would be RM5,000 cash for the only winner.

Sonny also stressed that the youngest contestant from all 25 contestants, at 15 years old and those under 18, are strictly under parental guidance.
