Kindergarten hopes to win banner and parade competition again this year

MIRI : Tadika Hikmah Miri and Tadika Hikmah Lutong is hoping to win the banner and parade competition for the second time organised in conjunction with the Sarawak Level Maulidur Rasul this coming Feb 5.

Head of the contingent Norsufian Asmuni said the team is looking forward to the competition and is ready for the competitive environment.

“Last year, we were the only contingent representing kindergartens and we won the category. We hope to win again this year,” he told theSundaypost yesterday.

He said the programme is good for Muslims and such spirit should be instilled in children from a very young age to boost their love for Rasulullah S.A.W.

“We should enliven programme like this to create awareness and boost the peoples’ love for the prophet and the Islamic religion,” he said.

He hopes that the competition held will receive encouraging response from participants for all categories this year.

“Let us celebrate this meaningful event together. We have everything to gain by joining programmes like this,” he said further.

The celebration with the theme ‘Persefahaman Asas Perpaduan Ummah’ is open to all interested members of the public and there are ten categories to be contested in.

Size of the banner for the competition for each team must be a minimum of four feet wide and six feet long.

Apart from being based on this year’s theme, wordings on the banners must be translations from al-Quran verses and written in roman letters or ‘jawi’. Direct al-Quran verses or quotes are not allowed.
