HAPPY NEW YEAR: SEGi College Sarawak’s staff striking a pose with the ‘lions’ during the Chinese New Year Open House held at its main campus recently.

KUCHING: As the college welcomes the Chinese New Year, SEGi College Sarawak principal Elina Tiu is hopeful that the lunar year would usher in a more productive and progressive era to the institution.

“We would like to extend our greetings of prosperity and good fortune to all the students and staff here in our college” said Tiu.

The year of the water dragon for the Chinese is expected to bring good luck for local business and international partnership as well as potentially enhance the establishment of the colleges in the educational line.

“This encouraging forecast gives us the drive to achieve our goals this coming year by boosting the number of students and attracting more foreign students to SEGi.”

Tiu said that the College is now on the right track to achieve this, just a few weeks into the year.

“We understand that the year ahead will be uncertain and challenging, but we will prepare ourselves for the uncertainties and be confident that SEGi College Sarawak is in a strong position to weather any storm.”

She was interviewed during the Chinese New Open House held in the main campus here recently where most students and staff dressed in red thronged the main campus to join in the merry-making.

A celebrative mood filled the air as the traditional drums and lion dance troupe kick-started the event.

SEGi College Sarawak recently received a 5-star rating in MOHE MyQuest evaluation, testimonial of its commitment in delivering quality education by meeting the standards set out by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE).

“This recognition will be the driving force for us to continuously improve our quality and performance to remain competitive in the market,” added Tiu.

SEGi College Sarawak welcomes the public to walk-in to their Open Day to be held at the main campus at 211 Jalan Bukit Mata Kuching tomorrow and on Saturday.

The college is offering RM500 rebate to every new sign-up until Feb 11.
