‘Traitor’ eager to replace Anifah – Mositun

Posted on February 5, 2012, Sunday

PAPAR: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Pantai Manis division chief Datuk Johnny Mositun regretted the action of some Barisan Nasional members in Bongawan who had staged a demonstration to demand that Datuk Anifah Aman be dropped from contesting the Kimanis pParliamentary seat in the next general election.

“These people should bring their complaints to the State BN leadership. They should use proper channels instead of resorting to a public demonstration. They are after all Umno and BN members and not opposition members,” Mositun said.

Advising those opposed to Anifah’s candidacy to be rational and disciplined, Mositun said although Anifah had many duties to attend to in Kuala Lumpur and abroad the interests of the constituents in Kimanis had been well looked after.

“Datuk Anifah is the Foreign Minister and has many duties at national level. But as far as I can see Kimanis is well looked after and is rapidly developing into a major oil and gas hub. Many in the petro-chemicals sector are also becoming interested  to  relocate to Kimanis or set up new industries there. This is an undeniable fact and anybody can see it,” Mositun said.

Mositun said the people should appreciate Anifah’s efforts in using his position in the Cabinet to prevail upon Petronas and the Federal Cabinet to expedite the development of the Kimanis Oil and  Gas Hub instead of believing those spread lies and false information about him.

“I have reliable information about one particularly ambitious individual who aspires to replace Datuk Anifah as Kimanis MP. This individual is going around under the pretext of doing charitable work for an NGO and handing out ‘gifts’ for the poor to promote himself as a champion of the people. He’s also playing on communal sentiments,” Mositun said.

He said the BN in Kimanis would not be deterred by such underhand tactics of this individual whom he described as a traitor and worse than the opposition.

Mositun said it was proof that Umno in Kimanis still had faith in Anifah’s leadership as demonstrated by the open support expressed by BN members led by Datuk Karim Bujang (Bongawan), Datuk Arifin Arif (Membakut) and the division’s Youth and Puteri chiefs and their supporters.

“PBS will also ensure that as long as Datuk Anifah Aman has the trust and support of Umno and BN leadership to continue serving as MP for Kimanis we will stand by his side without reservation,” he said.
