DSA 2012 conference to feature 850 companies from 45 countries

KUCHING: The 13th Defence Services Asia Exhibition & Conference (DSA 2012) will see over 850 companies from 45 countries from the defence and security industries as well as 25,000 trade visitors including some 300 dignitaries from 35 countries gather in Kuala Lumpur for business sourcing activities within the Asia Pacific defence and security hub.
According to a press release, among the companies and governments that have contracted for space at DSA 2012 were ADS and UKTI DSO (UK Pavilion), Avibras, BAE Systems, Bumar, EADS, Finmeccanica, KDIA (Korean Pavilion), MBDA, Ruag, SAAB, SASTIND (Chinese Pavilion), SSM (Turkish Pavilion), the largest exhibiting country pavilion at the show, Fair Management (Swiss Pavilion), OMNIPOL (Czech Republic Pavilion) and many more.
Some 220 Malaysian defence and security companies were expected to also confirm their participation in this year’s event, with DRB Hicom Defence Technologies (DEFTECH) being the single largest exhibitor. Others included MDSTP, Pesaka Astana, Sapura, SME Ordnance and Weststar LVD.
DSA 2012, which is set to take place between April 16 to 19, 2012 at the Putra World Trade Centre, will continue to bring together various key players in the defence and security industry as well as government agencies for strategic alliances, business collaborations and successful networking opportunities.
There will be several highlights during DSA 2012, including the Putrajaya Forum 2012 held on April 17 to 19, by the Malaysian Institute of Defence and Security (MiDAS) and Ministry of Defence Malaysia in collaboration with DSA 2012.
Themed, ‘Enhancing Multilateralism for Regional Defence and Security’, this is the second Putrajaya Forum organised by MiDAS.
Two more vital events to be held during DSA 2012 are the ‘Chiefs of Roundtable Talks’ as well as the Asean Defence Industry Collaboration (ADIC) Workshop.
