Poor security level in housing area, claims govt servant

Posted on February 6, 2012, Monday

KOTA KINABALU: A government servant was shocked after receiving a message (SMS) from her neighbour informing her that the mirrors of her Proton Iswara car had been damaged in an accident, on Saturday.

The victim, identified as Sharang, 29, said upon receiving the SMS at about 4.30pm, she immediately went to examine her car which she had parked in front of her rented house in Donggonggon, near here.

The victim, who later lodged a police report over the matter, voiced her dissatisfaction on the level of safety at the housing area.

“I was made to understand that the security guard was not working at that time and thus, the gate was unattended.

“Last month, my friend’s car was hit while parked in the area but no action had been taken,” she said.

She hoped the management of the residential area would tighten up the security level in the area to avoid any untoward incidents from happening.

“If there are no inspections and efforts taken by the management to enhance the security level here, I believe cases such as this would happen again in future,” she said.

She said she did not know the motive of the incident but hoped the police would investigate the matter.
