SRI AMAN: 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) recipients were reminded against using the RM500 cash aid to fuel negative habits such as heavy drinking.

Assistant Minister for Agriculture (Research and Marketing) Datuk Mong Dagang yesterday said the money should instead be used for beneficial purposes such as meeting the needs of their schooling children.

“Use the money wisely and for those who still have children in school, the money should be use for their schooling needs.

“Do not ever use the money to buy alcoholic drinks which serves no good purpose at all,” he said.

Mong, who is also Bukit Begunan assemblyman, mentioned this when speaking at the opening ceremony of the 10 metre Lubuk Besai Bridge near here which cost RM350,000. The event also saw Mong handing out BR1M vouchers to 30 recipients at Rumah Jantai, Tuba Tengah, Pantu.

At the event he urged Sri Aman folk to continue supporting Sri Aman MP Masir Kujat in the coming general election.

Also present at the event were Balai Ringin assemblyman Snowdan Lawan and Sri Aman resident Johnathan Lugoh.
