SANDAKAN: A couple with nine children were a picture of happiness when they managed to get birth certificates for the siblings at the National Registration Department’s (NRD) mobile registration programme held at Sungai Manila, here yesterday.
Jen Yusuf, 44, and his wife Putih Madsa, 40, took the opportunity to register their children, aged four to 19, as being illiterate, they had problems with personal documentation and marriage certificate.
“Our children could not go to school because they did not have birth certificates.
“However, with this programme, it has helped our family and my children can look forward to a better future,” Jen told Bernama. — Bernama
