Two face death penalty for drug trafficking if convicted

SIBU: A man and a woman charged with drug trafficking face the death penalty if convicted.

Ling Chee Kiong, 51, and Eti, 25, were yesterday brought before a magistrate here to face a charge filed under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.

The duo was arrested on Jan 31 at Arau Road at about 11.40pm.

The charge sheet says they were caught in possession of 57.72g of Methamphetamine and 30.2g of Nimetazepam.

The court yesterday ordered them remanded until their next appearance in court on March 8.
