KUCHING: An international conference on hydropower will be held in Kuching next year.

Towards this end, the organisers led by Hydro Tasmania Australia chairman Dr David Crean paid a courtesy call on Minister of Public Utilities Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan to brief him on the preparations.

The conference is to be held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).

Kuching will be the fourth host of this conference after Iceland, Turkey and Brazil.

Earlier, Awang Tengah, also Second Minister of Resource Planning and Environment, received a courtesy call from International Hydropower Association project manager Gregory Tracz and public relations executive Thor Windham-Wright.
