MAS Travel Fair returns with value-for-money deals

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia Airlines Travel Fair (MATF), an annual event with best prices and value deals for air travel, is back with more special offers for economy and business class journeys.
The offers cover both domestic and international routes of the national carrier’s network.
After eight successful annual promotions, MATF 2012 will reach out to customers in Malaysia from Feb 10-17, offering up to 500,000 seats for travel.
“The offers are valid for travel from Feb 10-July 31, except specified peak periods,” said Malaysia Airlines (MAS) in a statement here yesterday.
It also said the domestic travel offer covers 15 routes between KLIA and destinations in both Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah and Sarawak as well as six within the two states.
“One-way economy class domestic travel fares start from as low as RM134 for Kuching-Sibu, RM144 for Kuala Lumpur-Alor Star and RM224 for Kuching-Kuala Lumpur.
“The maximum is only RM279 one-way, for Kota Kinabalu-Kuala Lumpur,” it added.
MAS also said the domestic one-way business class fares start at RM359 for Kota Kinabalu-Labuan in Sabah and Sarawak and RM429 for Johor Bahru-KLIA.
The international travel offers from Malaysia covers 13 Asean routes, seven routes each to China or Hong Kong and South Asia, six to Australia or New Zealand, five to Europe or Turkey and four to North Asia as well as to Los Angeles (United States).
The international one-way economy class fares start from RM189 to Medan in the Asean region, RM389 to Hong Kong, RM500 to Taipei in North Asia, RM789 to Perth in Australia and RM1,349 to Amsterdam.
The company also said the maximum one-way offer is RM1,749 to Los Angeles.
“Likewise, the one-way international business class fare from Malaysia ranges between RM335 to Medan and RM7,099 to Amsterdam,” it added.
Children between two years and 12 years, can enjoy a further 35 per cent discount off domestic travel business class fares and 25 per cent for international business class travel.
