HULU SELANGOR: There is still time for the Barisan Nasional (BN) to bolster the image of the party and winnable candidates before the next general election, said Defence Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said hence, internal bickering among party members and leaders must be resolved quickly to strengthen the party’s unity.
“We need to act quickly to resolve internal problems and not to let the quagmire to drag
on until the dissolution of parliament and state assemblies,” he told reporters after launching the Felda Territorial Army company at SMK Felda Gedangsa, Hulu Selangor here yesterday.
Ahmad Zahid said as 38.8 percent of voters in the next general elections aged 40 years and below, efforts must be made to woo them to support the BN.
Commenting on a call by former finance minister Tun Daim Zainuddin for BN component parties to unite and work hard for victory in the next general election, Ahmad Zahid said it was a sincere reminder from a veteran politician who was concern with the BN survival. — Bernama
