SMK Selirik double winner in sepak takraw meet

KAPIT: SMK Selirik was a double winner at the recent Sarawak Schools Sports Council (MSSS-Majlis Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah) Kapit Division Sepak Takraw championship winning the boys U18 category and boys U18 ‘Regu’ competitions.

The school played host to the competition that was participated by all the secondary schools in Kapit Division.

Schools which took part were SMK Bakun, SMK Belaga, SMK Baleh, SMK Selirik, SMK Kapit, SMK Kapit 2, SMK Katibas and SMK Song. SMK Song was in second placing of the U18 event with SMK Belaga in third while the boys U15 event saw SMK Kapit taking the title followed by SMK Song and SMK Kapit 2 in second and third placing respectively.

SMK Song was runner-up in the ‘Regu” competition while SMK Belaga occupied the third placing. The boys U12 ‘Regu’ event was won by SMK Kapit with SMK Selirik and SMK Katibas in second and third placing respectively.

The objective of the tournament was to select players to represent Kapit division in the upcoming inter-division MSSS Sepak Takraw competition.
