Masked men armed with machetes rob family

RANAU: Six family members from Kampung Nanus here were robbed and tied up by three masked men armed with machetes on Monday.

It is believed that the intruders had entered the house around 10am.

One of the family members is said to have suffered head injuries when a suspect hit him with the machete after he tried to put up a fight.

The robbers then tied up the family members with wires before fleeing the scene with jewellery, six handphones and RM170 cash.

Acting district police chief Assistant Superintendent Rosley Hobden said investigation was ongoing to identify the suspects.

“Initial investigation believe the suspects are foreigners,” he said, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for gang robbery.
