KUALA LUMPUR: Police are hunting for three other suspects in connection with a drive-by shooting involving a group of assailants at Gardenia Court Apartment in Taman Sri Gombak here, on Sunday.
Gombak police chief ACP Abdul Rahim Abdullah said the suspects had been identified.
“It’s just a matter of right timing. We’ll arrest them as soon as possible. We’ve arrested one suspect within 24 hours of the shooting,” he told Bernama here yesterday.
In the 9.30pm incident, three men were seriously injured when the vehicle they were in was fired upon.
“The suspects in a Mitsubishi Pajero managed to enter the compound of the building although the area was gated and guarded,” Abdul Rahim said.
Abdul Rahim said the three victims, namely K Ashok, 18, M Tirusilan, 23, and P Kesevan, 29, were being treated for their injuries and were in stable condition.
The management of residential areas should play a better role in ensuring security as people’s safety should not be taken for granted, he added.
He urged those who witnessed the incident to contact Gombak police headquarters at 03-6126 2222 or Kuala Lumpur Rakan Cop Hotline at 03-2115 9999 or send an SMS to 32728. — Bernama
