KOTA KINABALU: A group of Sabah DAP Kota Kinabalu women leaders were shocked to see a cockroach in an ice cube while they were having breakfast at a coffee shop here.
One of the women was finishing her iced Milo drink when she saw the insect.
The woman almost vomited and felt very uncomfortable, knowing that her drink was contaminated.
The ladies said this was bad as it had happened in a place frequented by tourists.
“What would happen if the frozen cockroach got into the mouth of a tourist? The consequence is immense and will definitely spoil our image,” they said in a statement yesterday.
The Sabah DAP KK women leaders do not wish this to happen again.
“The Ministry of Health must regularly check on all food outlets, including all food preparation and production factories, and of course the ice-cube making factories.”
They said consumers did not want ‘extras’ to be added to their food.
The DAP ladies said they would conduct their own checking and inspection to ensure that everyone did their part to keep food clean and safe.
