GEORGE TOWN: Two friends were sentenced to death by the high court here for trafficking 20,698.4 grammes of cannabis in 2007.

Justice Datuk Zamani Abd Rahim read his decision after finding the defence of the two accused Muhamad Nasir Hussain, 55, an unemployed and R. Murthi, 48, a contractor as merely a denial.

Zamani said an undercover police agent when making the arrest on March 20 2007 had no motive of persecution against the accused.

The two accused were alleged to be trafficking in 20,698.4 grammes of cannabis at Jalan Besar, Nibong Tebal between 3.45 pm and 4.15 pm on March 20 2007.
