KUCHING: February Hearts charity drive held at tHe Spring Shopping Mall from Feb 14 to 18 raised RM5,035 for Sarawak Heart Foundation (SHF).
On hand to receive the donation at the closing ceremony here yesterday were SHF board of trustee Puan Sri Datuk Jamilah Adenan who thanked the organisers for promoting the foundation.

“We at SHF are truly honoured by this event organised by the younger generation to help spread our vision and mission to the public,” Jamilah said.
She commended the organisers for raising the funds through an interactive and artistic approach.
Organised by tHe Spring and supported by Best Solutions and The Collective, the five-day charity drive featured an innovative art installation and interactive activities such as photography service, love note dedications and promotion of local craft and goodies.
Best Solutions managing director Mohd Salleh Mohidin said they hope to provide an environment which is fun, unique and beneficial to everyone through events such as February Hearts.
“We aim to go bigger in promoting love, care, health awareness and charity and look forward to more corporations and organisations taking part in future initiatives,” he said.
The ceremony saw three couples winning the February Hearts’ Valentine Couple Photo Contest based on the most ‘likes’ of photographs taken during the event and uploaded on tHe Spring’s Facebook.
Awang Sharkawi Awang Yassin and wife Salmiah Awang Jalil were the most popular couple garnering 660 votes to win RM220 worth of Estee Lauder perfume each, followed by Zaheer Zakaria and Haniza Sahdi (374 votes), and Nur Nabilah Hashimi and partner (367 votes).
