Scholarships, children’s activities and so much more at BPIEF 2012

KUCHING: The much-anticipated annual education event, the Borneo Post International Education Fair 2012, is kicking off at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) tomorrow from 10am to 6pm.

The two-day event will provide insight and options for those who are planning to study abroad as exhibitors from institutions of higher learning and skills training would be available to counsel students and parents about the possibilities of pursuing education in their countries.

Besides the diverse array of some 90 institutions with over 100 booths available to offer advice and counselling, Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Borneo Campus and UCSI University, Sarawak Campus are offering scholarships to a selection of their degree and foundation programmes leading to a degree.

The scholarship awards offer full or partial tuition fee waiver to candidates who demonstrate outstanding academic achievements and active participation in extracurricular activities.

The awards are open to East Malaysian students.

Side events throughout the whole two days will feature representatives from a diverse range of institutions and corporations speaking on their fields of expertise and education opportunities.

Children will also share in the value and fun of education through Astro’s activities based on its leading educational channels: Astro XTY Corner: Maths game, History Corner: Puzzle game, TVIQ Corner: Land Mark game and Discovery Corner: Match game.

In addition to these activities, children can participate in the colouring contests organised by BPIEF-Nestle, which will be divided into two categories: Category A for children 7-9 years and Category B for children aged 10-12 years.

Prizes can be won from the Wheel of Knowledge being held throughout the day from 10am to 6pm.

In conjunction with the BPIEF, The Blood Bank of Sarawak General Hospital will also be organising a blood cum organ donation campaign at the Borneo Convention Centre, Concourse B on March 3.

This meaningful life-saving campaign will be held from 10am until 3pm.

Take a bus ride at RM1/one way on the Rapid Kuching bus to visit the BPIEF 2012.

This offer will only be over the two days.
