Community declares support for Sagan

MARUDI: Incumbent Datuk Jacob Dungau Sagan has the support of the Orang Ulu community from Tutoh region to defend Baram parliamentary constituency for BN-SPDP this coming general election, claimed headman Gilbert Ding Laing.

Claiming to represent Penghulu Herbert Lawai Epoi and five other longhouse chiefs, namely Tua Kampung (TK) Edmund Abang of Long Terawan, TK Belare Layat of Long Patan, TK Christopher Pusu of Long Ukok, TK Asong Jaban of Long Linei and TK Victor Wak Pasu of Kuala Tutoh, he said it was their way of reciprocating Sagan’s tireless efforts in bringing development to Tutoh through Barisan Nasional (BN).

He cited Long Panai as an example where the government had built a primary school, secondary school and rural health clinic, and which is now served by a road that connects it to Marudi and Miri.

This declaration of support was given at a function at Long Panai last Saturday where Sagan was guest-of-honour.

The function was also attended by political secretary to the chief minister Robert Laing Anyie, Temenggong Pahang Deng Anyie, Penghulu Mering Ibau and Penghulu Paul Kalang and Sarawak adiministrative officer Jeffery Jalong.
