KUCHING: The Funds Management Division (FMD) of AmInvestment Bank Group scooped Malaysia’s Best Institutional House award by Asia Asset Management, a leading financial publication in Asia in its Best of the Best Country Awards 2012. The award was presented in Hong Kong recently.

According to Asia Asset Management, asset managers were evaluated on several criterions, among others, growth of market share, client retention initiatives and new business secured.

The award also acknowledged FMD’s strong management team handling institutional mandates, future business plans as well as thought leadership and involvement in education programmes.

The performance period under review was as at end November 2011.

“To date, we manage approximately RM30 billion worth of assets and that number is still rapidly growing,” said Datin Maznah Mahbob, chief executive officer, Funds Management Division, AmInvestment Bank Group.

“Over our three-decade track record, our fund size has organically grown and generated from external parties unlike some of our competitors.

“Our task has always been to provide investment solutions that cater for the investment needs of our clients and deliver them with the highest level of integrity.

“The Best Institutional House Award underscores the dedication of our institutional funds services and investment solutions team who have been managing our institutional clients’ mandates, both in conventional and Shariah-compliant spheres with an average duration of 13 years. We would like to express our gratitude to our clients for their affirmation in our capabilities,” she added.

FMD was recently honoured with the prestigious Best Bond Fund Group for the 5th consecutive year from The Edge–Lipper.

FMD has also been recognized as Best Overall Fixed Income Portfolio Manager 2010 and Best 3 Years Realised Returns Fixed Income Manager 2010 by Employees Provident Fund (EPF).
