KUCHING: SUPP Kuching branch has successfully raised RM7,680 for Lee Cai Ho who lost her wooden house in a fire last Dec 31.

The fund raising activity was initiated by SUPP Bako Sub-branch and supported by SUPP Kuching branch Youth and Women sections.

SUPP Bako Sub-branch secretary Kapitan Bong Nam Kee yesterday said at the donation handing over ceremony that the money would help Lee to start her small business.

“Lee used to sell vegetables in front of her house before the fire. We hope the raised fund can help her to build a stall for the business,” said Bong.

Bong pointed out that Lee and her four children are currently staying at the RPR Demak Laut, thanks to the assistance of Santubong MP Datuk Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, who also visited the family after the disaster. Lee’s husband is working outside Bako.

He said besides the fund raised by SUPP, Lee also received donations from members of the public amounting to RM6,223.
