FTMS International College holds Open Day this weekend

QUALITY EDUCATION: FTMS International College is located at Song Plaza, Jalan Song in Kuching.

KUCHING: FTMS International College is holding its Open Day today and tomorrow.

A press release issued yesterday said those interested are welcomed to visit to get a feel of the college, to see what sets the college apart, and what FTMS can offer.

“Before deciding where and what to study, it is important that you find out as much as you can about the place and the course you are interested in,” said the Student Services and Marketing Manager of FTMS International College, Rachel Choo.

Throughout the day, visitors will be able to take part in and enjoy a wide range of seminars from Faculty of Business, Accounting, Information Technology, CAT and ACCA.

The press release also said visitors can hear a series of informative talks on academic courses, student life, scholarships and how to make the best out of the FTMS education programmes.

The special speaker of the Open Day is Zubir Che Embi, the senior assistant manager of National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) and he will share about the PTPTN study loan and its application process.

For this year’s intake, Independent Chinese school students with the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) who are accepted into Diploma programmes at the college are eligible to apply.

In conjunction with FTMS 26th Jubilee Year celebration, every student who registers for FTMS’s programmes for the coming April intake is also eligible to apply for a merit scholarship which is worth up to RM10, 000 per student.

FTMS offers various Diploma programmes ranging from Diploma in Business Administration (DipBA), Diploma in Accounting and Finance (DipAF) to Diploma in Business Information Systems (DipBIS).

It also has professional accounting qualifications such as CAT and ACCA. All these programmes are approved by Ministry of Higher Education and Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

Recently, FTMS International College has launched a two-and-a-half-year full- time Diploma in Entrepreneurship, to debut in April this year.

Designed to build on FTMS’s strength in business management, this course targets both students and young professionals interested in learning the skills to help them build their own business links and even to start up their own companies.

“The course delivers a unique combination of entrepreneurial insight, business skills and career advice, which will allow students to get their first foot on the career ladder,” said the chief executive officer of FTMS, David Chew.

The course has a market-focused approach and offers a completely unique and extensive guide to taking responsibility for self-promotion, self-employment and self-branding, the press release said.

Furthermore, a number of universities offer pathways with FTMS International College allowing students to continue their education to a university degree level or above.

Students who completed diplomas are able to further their studies at University of Sunderland (UK), University of Portsmouth (UK), Anglia Ruskin University (UK), Southern Cross University (Australia) and Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS).
