KUALA LUMPUR: An increase in the number of legal practitioners in the country will not be meaningful if their quality was compromised said the Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Dr Nazrin Shah.
He said if legal practitioners failed to manage the challenges and temptations wisely, their reputation and integrity would not only be ruined personally, it could also tarnish the image of the profession.
“We should take heed of the cases of wrongdoing involving the legal profession. Practice noble values and ethics as taught and learnt.
“Ethical legal practice means putting into practice these values which are not to be memorized to answer examination questions to obtain a degree,” he said at the 17th Convocation of the Certificate in Legal Practice Examination for 2011 at Dewan Tun Dr Ismail, Putra World Trade Centre here Thursday. –Bernama
