KENINGAU: A Form Four girl from a local secondary school, Dawimarcelina bte Marcus, 16, has run away from home and has not returned since March 20.

Dawi is believed to have followed a male friend on a motorcycle on the night of the incident.

Her mother, Bibiana bte Jaliji, 49, who met with The Borneo Post here yesterday, said her daughter had gone out of their house with clothes packed in small bags about 10.20 pm.

“Dawi left home quietly after receiving a call through her hand phone from a companion that night,” she said.

Bibiana said after receiving the call, Dawi gave an excuse that she wanted to wash her shoes and suddenly went away on a motorcycle driven by an unknown man.

“When Dawi did not return home after two days, I made a police report at the Keningau police station on March 23, and it has been nine days yesterday that Dewi had not returned home or answered our phone calls,” she said.

Bibiana also said that there were people who had seen Dawi in an entertainment centre here but they did not suspect that Dawi had run away from home.

She said there was no disagreement or quarrel between Dawi and her family members.

“I ask those who know where Dawi is to contact me via my hand phone 019-8826599 or report to the Keningau police station. I believe Dawi is still in this district,” she said.
