Husband threatens housewife with samurai sword

KENINGAU: A 36-year-old housewife from a village in Tambunan who was threatened with a samurai sword by her husband, lodged a police report at the Tambunan police station yesterday.

Keningau district police chief Deputy Superintendent Zahari Mohamed said the complainant (victim) reported that she was threatened by her husband when the latter put a samurai sword on her neck about 3pm on March 18.

“The incident occurred in their house and sparked off by problems in their household,” he said.

On March 22 at about 8am, the housewife received a message which amounted to a threat written in Dusun on her cellphone from her husband.

The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code, he said.

Meanwhile, a Form Four student of a secondary school, who was reported to have run away from home, was found by police in an entertainment centre on March 31 at about 10.35pm.

Dawimarcelina bte Marcus, 16, was believed to have followed a male friend on a motorcycle on the night of March 20.

Bibiana bte Jaliji, 49, said her daughter had gone out of their house with clothes packed in small bags about 10.20pm.

She said Dawi had left home quietly after receiving a call through her hand phone from a friend that night.

Zahari again advised all parents to always monitor the activities of their children to prevent them from being involved in activities not beneficial and detrimental to them.
