KUCHING: The drainage project covering three villages in Bintawa, estimated to cost RM1million, is expected to be completed by September.

The villages are Bintawa Hulu, Bintawa Tengah and Bintawa Hilir.

Santubong member of parliament Datuk Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said the project specifications have been completed and will be put out to tender within two weeks.

“This means all the drains will be completed in two to three months.

“Hopefully, the whole project will be finished by September,” he told reporters after attending a breakfast session with community leaders and villagers in Bintawa yesterday.

According to him, the areas are facing problems with stagnant water due to the road project.

Earlier, he presented an allocation of RM715,000 for drainage project, repairing of surau, and air-conditioning for a mosque.
