438 to graduate from Curtin

FLASHBACK: Curtin Sarawak has produced almost 3,000 graduates in its 12-year existence.

MIRI: A total of 438 Curtin University students will receive their scrolls on April 28 at the university’s Recreation and Event Centre.

They include eight from the Master of Philosophy, Master of Technology and Doctor of Philosophy programmes.

The School of Business and Diploma Graduation
Ceremony will be in the morning, while the School of Engineering and Science Graduation Ceremony will be in the afternoon.

Students who completed their programmes at the end of Semester 1 or Semester 2 of 2011 and have met all requirements for graduation have been invited to attend their respective graduation ceremonies.

Meanwhile, the Award and Scholarship Ceremony will be held in the evening of April 27 at the Miri Marriott Resort and Spa.

Students and staff will be recognised for academic or professional excellence, outstanding extracurricular activities and community service contributions.

They include students who made it into the Vice-Chancellor’s List and graduating student ambassadors of the John Curtin Leadership Academy — Curtin’s elite leadership programme.

Scholarships from Curtin and its industry partners, as well as individual donors, will also be presented to deserving students.

The Curtin Sarawak Alumni Dinner will be held on the evening of April 28 at the
Musical Corridor of Eastwood Valley Golf and Country Club.

Curtin Sarawak Campus Council chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan, who is former Deputy Chief Minister, is expected to officiate at all the events.
