Sarawak Skills Development Centre sets up information counter in Daro

MUKAH: Sarawak Skills Development Centre (PPKS) Mukah branch continued it’s mission to promote vocational and technical education by setting up an information and exhibition counter in conjunction with the 39th Annivesary of Daro District Day in Daro recently.

“Our mission in Daro was made even more meaningful with the visits by Daro assemblyman Dr Murni Suhaili and Semop assemblyman, who is also Chief Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Abdullah Saidol, in addition to the youths, school leavers and their parents,” said PPKS Mukah branch’s Administration and Human Resource manager Zainal Abiddin Ahmad in an email to The Borneo Post.

Zainal also confirmed that besides introducing their visitors to PPKS Mukah branch, they also took the golden opportunity to introduce PPKS’ role in helping their students or trainees to acquire Malaysian Skills Certifications that include Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) and Malaysian Skills Diploma (DKM) awarded by Department of Skills Development, Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia to qualified school leavers.

“Additionally, we also informed Murni and Abdullah and all our visitors on all skill programmes offered by PPKS Group in the field of Mechatronic, Computer System, Information System, Multimedia, Industrial Electronics, Graphic Design, Nature Guide, Air-Conditioning, Electrical Technician, Plantation Management, Draughtsman, Tailoring, Welding and Automotive leading to the SKM and DKM certifications,” said Zainal.

Zainal also confirmed that various diploma programmes are also available at International College of Advanced Technology Sarawak (ICATS) that offers Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical / Electronics Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Geomatic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Plantation Management, Environmental Tourism Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Fashion Design and Nursing and other certifications.
