KUCHING: Local developer Chen Ling Sdn Bhd (Chen Ling) is set to launch its latest development Central World this weekend.

The new upcoming commercial and shopping complex development situated along Jalan Merbau and Jalan Pelabuhan opposite the Kuching Port Authority consists of one three storey shopping complex and 73 units of four storey commercial shophouses.

Central World was progressing with this commercial development which covered an estimated gross development value of RM2.8 billion .

The Isthmus was slated to be the largest commercial hub in the city offering opportunities such as education centers, transport hub, offices, the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), new residential areas as well as a public theme park.

The added perk was that foreign ownership was allowed offeron its special development area hence diversifying business opportunities.

“The project is on a 60 year leasehold development and fronts a stylish facade featuring a sleek design.

Each four storey shophouse comes with a minimum width of 22 feet and 65 feet in length which provides a spacious area for businesses to operate,” Tiong said.

He added, “The total gross development value of this project (Central World), is estimated to be in the region of RM150 million.

“The project is scheduled to be fully completed by 2015 and will be equipped with a well planned and developed infrastructure, facilities and other components designed to be an ideal work and shop place.”

Trish Lui and Melissa Wee, sales and marketing managers for Chen Ling told The Borneo Post, “Currently an estimated 50 per cent of the project has already been booked as many business personnel understand the huge opportunities to be situated so close to such a massive project such as The Isthmus.”
