KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman has suggested that the Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) Youth use the cyber media to create a positive perception among the people towards the ruling coalition.

The BN Youth, he said, should fully utilise the platform, particularly in facing attacks by opposition parties ahead of the coming election.

“This is in line with current political scenario where the cyber media is being used to launch psychological offensives either through blogs or social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter or online news portals,” he said in his speech at the closing of the Sabah BN Youth’s political oratory course at 1Borneo mall, here yesterday.

His text of speech was read out by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Yahya Hussin. Present was Sabah BN Youth chairman Awang Kadin Tang.

Musa said the party’s deeds and stance as well as that of the BN government in caring for the people and in bringing more development to the country should be highlighted in the cyber space.

He added that the proliferation of information communication technology has made the new media appealing especially to the young people.

“They are not only able to access information easily and speedily, but also issues which are often being twisted by the opposition,” he said. — Bernama
