MIRI: After a poor run at the recent inter-secondary school meet here, SMK Dato Permaisuri had set a target to be a high achiever in track and field events within two years.
To achieve the goal, the school will organise its 35th inter-house athletic meet on April 19-20 at Miri Stadium.
“We aim to uplift the standard of our athletes to become champions within two-years. The school fared badly at the recent inter-secondary school sports meet where we only able to secure one gold medal. We have set our standard and confident the students would be transformed to become winners,” said publicity officer of the sports meet, Chong Chui Yin yesterday.
“Apart from scouting new talents, this meet is the ideal platform for our students to improve their athletic prowess. A total of 330 students from five teams of the school will take part in the two-day sports meet. They will compete in 15 track and field events,” informed Chong.
