KUCHING: Malaysian National Co-operative Movement (Angkasa) deputy president Datuk Abdul Fattah Abdullah believes school and adult co-operatives can both enjoy the same facilities.

“This is because the co-operative culture has become more relevant and accepted by society,” he said in his speech during his visit to SM Agama Matang here yesterday.

Abdul Fattah, who earlier attended the closing ceremony of State-Level School Co-operative Briefing Programme, commended the school’s co-operative for its success in last year’s national level School Co-operative Day Competition where they emerged as first runner-up.

“I hope that SM Agama Matang will be able to maintain their success year after year as it is not easy for a school to achieve such an accolade annually,” he said.

SM Agama Matang’s co-operative have been participating in the competition since 2006 winning the championship in 2010.

Also present at the event were Angkasa vice-president Armi Zainuddin and Angkasa Sarawak chairman Yusuf Samah.
