People to have chance to meet Najib during forthcoming Sarawak visit

KUCHING: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is scheduled to visit Sarawak from April 26 to 28, where the people will have the golden opportunity to meet him at his various walkabouts.

According to a statement issued by the state Information Department, his first stop would be in Sibu where he and his wife  Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, accompanied by Chief Minister Pehin  Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and Puan Sri Ragad Kurdi Taib, were expected to attend a community dinner on Thursday evening.

The next day, he will go on a walkabout at the Sibu market, meeting and exchanging greetings with traders and patrons alike and probably even stop for breakfast before proceeding to declare open the RM12 million Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Thai Kwang at Lanang Road.

Later the prime minister will continue his visit to Kabong      town, near Saratok in Betong Division, where a large crowd of people is expected to give him a rousing welcome and mingle with him.

Thereafter he is scheduled to fly to Kuching and will have dinner with the chief minister at Demak Jaya here.

On Saturday, Najib will have another walkabout at the Matang Jaya farmers’ market (pasar tani) before attending the ‘Jelajah Janji Di Tepati’ programme at the car park of Wisma Bapa Malaysia, Petra Jaya here.

He will also visit the Cities and Corridors Lab open day at the nearby old state legislative assembly building.

In the afternoon, he will meet with state Barisan Nasional leaders at a leading hotel here before returning to Kuala Lumpur.

He is expected to bring cheer to the people in all the places he visits as those wishing to get up close and exchange greetings with him may do so at all his walkabout programmes at the Sibu market, Kabong Town, Matang Jaya farmers’ market and the ‘Jelajah Janji Di Tepati’ programme here. — Bernama
