Futsal competition calling for entries

MIRI: Cash prizes totalling over RM8,850 as well as trophies and medals await winners of the inaugural Miri futsal competition held from May 2-6. The competition is part of the activities to celebrate the 7th Anniversary of the Miri City.

Miri City Council joined forces with a local telecommunication company, ANTBIZ Network, in organising the futsal competition divided into Men’s and Women’s categories.

“A total of 24 teams including four ladies teams from Miri, Bintulu and Limbang have already confirmed their participation. We expect more teams will sign up on or before the closing date on April 30,” co-organising chairman Adam Abdul Malik told the Borneo Post yesterday.

“We hope that through sports competition like this, we could assist to upgrade the standard of futsal and attract more visitors to Miri and join the May Fest celebration,’ he added.
