GAP opens second branch with exclusive Sharp brand showroom

KUCHING: Local electrical store selling diversified consumer electronic products, Grand Audio Product Sdn Bhd (GAP) is officially launching its second outlet and Sharp-Roxy product partnership tie-up today.

Branching out from its first store located at Taman Malihah in Jalan Matang, GAP is making its presence felt at a new up and coming residential area of Kuching City Mall Commercial Centre (KCMCC) to tap the potential consumer market and house buyers in that area.

Poised to be one of the prime zones within the seven kilometres radius of Kuching city, the KCMCC is a new 103-acre mixed development project with a population of more than 300,000 people as more housing and commercial developments sprout in the area.

Proprietor of GAP, Alex Hiew said that he acquired the two shoplots as he saw a potential demand for electronic products in the new area. The two shoplots in his stores were divided into a mixed products area and an exclusive showroom selling only Sharp brand of products.

Meanwhile, Branch manager of Sharp-Roxy Sales & Services Company (M) Sdn Bhd (Sharp-Roxy) Johnny Chan briefed the media that this was Sharp-Roxy’s first partnership tie-up with a local electrical company in Kuching.

He said Sharp-Roxy planned to have more such partnerships in the future and it was considering opening Sharp-Roxy exclusive showrooms at the main towns of Sarawak such as in Sibu, Miri and Bintulu.

“The Sharp brand has been in Sarawak for more than 20 years and our products are well accepted by the consumers,” he said adding that the Sharp brand has been in the market for ages and would be celebrating its 100th anniversary worldwide on September 15, 2012.

He pointed out that Sharp’s brand strength had always been attributed to its creativity in innovation and sincerity in giving the best benefit to customers.

“Sharp-Roxy does not seek merely to expand its business volume but rather we are emphasising more on product innovation, marketing strategies and price competitiveness,” he said when asked about the company’s sales performance.

He revealed that the business has been growing every year and for the last four years, its sales had managed to achieve double digit growth annually.

Currently, Sharp-Roxy has two exclusive showrooms in Kuching, one at Sekama and the other one is through the special tie-up with GAP.
