KUCHING: EON Auto Mart Sdn Bhd (EON Auto Mart), an authorised 3S dealer of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) launched the new Mitsubishi Triton Lite Turbo yesterday at its 3S centre at Jalan Rock.

The Triton Lite Turbo is the latest model in the Triton series that forms the backbone of many small medium enterprises (SME) and as of last year, the Triton Lite contributed nearly 20 per cent of all Triton sales.

MMM has given the Triton Lite a mid-life update and now boasts a 2.5 litre single overhead cam (SOHC) engine equipped with a turbocharger. This enables the new Triton Lite Turbo to pump out a higher output from 74 horsepower (hp) to 88 hp.

Peak output is now generated at 200 rpm lower at 4,000 rpm but the torque figures, which truly propels the car, has now been increased from 149 Nm to 196 Nm, the higher torque enables more power,” explained EON Auto Mart branch manager Tan Kwang Yong at the launch.

To visually distinguish it from it’s predecessors, the new Triton Lite Turbo was fitted with newer 15’ inch alloy rims, a chrome finish and the appropriate model named sticker.

Inside, an upgraded cabin gets dual tone finish and a new single DIN audio unit with AUX-IN function. For further comfort and convenience, the Triton Lite Turbo comes with a remarkable tight 5.7m turning radius that enables the driver to manoeuver through tight spaces with more ease,” he added.

For safety purposes, the Triton Lite Turbo also came with load sensing proportioning valve (LPSW), which accurately distributed the braking force. Passive safety features also included the implementation of the anti intrusion brake pedal, collapsible steering as well as Mitsubishi Motor’s rigid RISE body structure.

The Triton Lite Turbo is available in two colours; cool silver metallic and white solid. Owners get to enjoy a three year/100,000 km warranty as well as Mitsubishi’s two year free maintenance package.

Other standard equipment include keyless entry, power windows, speed sensitive front wipers, central door locking system and headlamp auto off-function. This stylish workhorse also comes with a low cargo height of 715mm for easy loading.

The Triton Lite Turbo is a complete built unit from Thailand and is priced at RM66,963.50 on-the-road with insurance for Sarawak. For more information contact 082-230670, 082-230671, 082-230672.
