KUALA LUMPUR: Domino’s Pizza Malaysia (Domino’s) plans to expand to Sabah and Sarawak by the end of next year, its president and chief operating officer, Ba U Shan-Ting said yesterday.

“We’re working on the market, especially on logistics issues, but nothing has been firmed up yet,” he told reporters after the launch of its new Extreme Edge pizza crust product.

Being a market leader in the delivery segment, Domino’s also plans to make its presence felt in the east coast by early next year.

“There is significant business in the east coast and we will get there soon.

“We like to go places where people don’t have an opportunity to have Domino’s pizza.

This is what we are focusing on as the reason to cover the whole of Peninsular Malaysia and eventually Sabah and Sarawak,” he added.

Ba said the company also planned to open a minimum of 25 stores this year to close with the 100th.

“We have opened five stores to date this year and within the first four months with investments of about RM500,000 for each,” he added.

On the newly launched Extreme Edge pizza crust, Ba said its edge was stuffed with quality Mozzarella string cheese, garlic and herbs, while sprinkled with a mixture of breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese and parsley on the outside.

The Extreme Edge crust is available for both regular or large pizzas with a minimum surcharge of RM5 until June 18 this year. — Bernama
