Kuching Auto Show and Accessories starts today

KUCHING: The much awaited ‘The Kuching Auto Show and Accessories 2012’, jointly organised by the Padawan Municipal Council and Absolute Cool Event is taking place next weekend.

The event will be held at the Giant Hypermarket Padawan parking area from May 3 – 6.

“With the aim to gather all car brands and car accessories to showcase their latest products and technologies, more than 20 car dealers and accessories centres have been invited to participate in the auto show. We hope to provide all visitors a one-stop station to enhance their car shopping experiences,” said Absolute Cool Event director Sinyin Lim.

The event is brought to a significant milestone with the support of MD Motors Sdn Bhd, Ghee Yong Holdings (LKY) Sdn Bhd, Jimisar Autotrade Sdn Bhd, Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd, Twin (Sarawak) Automobile Sdn Bhd, Maxspeed Automart Sdn Bhd, Nasim Sdn Bhd, NB Motors Trading Sdn Bhd, YLH Autoworld Sdn Bhd, etc.

Together, these car supplier and dealers will be showcasing a wide range of automobile including the Proton, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Chery, Mazda, Peugeot and Great Wall, with trucks and recon cars also making an appearance.

There will be motorcycles from Daiichi, JCM, JAC, Isuzu as well as the great ATV, and e-bikes to tempt two wheels enthusiasts.

As for the car accessories, companies like D&C Accessories & Top Rim Trading will be spoiling visitors with incredible choices.

“Imagine you can observe, survey, test drive and compare all those cars, motorcycles and car accessories within one day at one location. Isn’t that a dream car shopping trip?” she
added.

“Not only the locals, we hope to bring in visitors from Kuching city, Siburan, Kota Samarahan and even Sri Aman and Betong to Padawan area. We believe such an event would help to raise the status of the surrounding areas while creating economic benefits to the locals,” said Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman Lo Khere Chiang.

Along with the event, the organiser has various creative and attractive programmes lined up.

“Working with DNS Waste Management Sdn Bhd, we are launching the “Together We Recycle – Buy Back Your Unwanted Car Kits” Campaign during the 4 days to encourage garbage segregation and car kits recycling,” said Lim.

The public are invited to either bring their unwanted car kits to the event in exchange for cash, or come and register with DNS and its “green men” will make a door collection by appointment.

Team JDM will have a gathering from 1pm to 6pm on the May 5 (Saturday). All sports car owners, lovers and fans are welcome. There will be about 50 stunning modified sports car on display.

The event will be made more exciting with the sponsorship of Canon to organise a car show photography contest.

All Canon camera users are invited to take part in the photography contest.

The gorgeous models will appear from 3pm to 5pm.

“Of course, non-Canon users can also come along and join
the fun of photo taking,” said Lim.

Hair stylists from Maison Monica Beauty Academy have kindly volunteered in contributing to the Charity Hair Cut Campaign.

With a minimum RM5 donation, one will enjoy a perfect hair cut by skilful hair stylists.

In cooperation with the Love Union, the collected fund will be donated to the Sarawak Children Cancer Charity.

This charity hair cut will take place from 6pm to 9pm from May 3 – 6 at the Giant Hypermarket in Kota Padawan.

The auto show colouring contest, which is jointly organised with Talent Times Sdn Bhd, will take place on the Saturday for Group A (age 10-12) and Sunday for Group B (age 7-9) and C (age 4-6).

All participants of the auto show colouring contest are reminded to arrive at the venue at 10am on Saturday or Sunday.

All participants will receive a RM5 voucher from My Chicken House.

All car drivers are invited to the test drive and receive a free limited edition of the auto show premium gift from the organiser.

Anyone who makes a booking at any of the exhibitors during the four day event will be entitled to a lucky draw with prizes that include a 42” LCD TV.

Ice cream lovers are invited to join the King’s Ice Cream contest at 2pm on Saturday and Sunday. Come and register on the day to enjoy the coolest ice cream and you may walk away with the ice-cream hamper.

“All are welcome to visit The 2012 Kuching Auto show and Accessories. It’s not only a shopping trip but also a great family day outing!” Lim said.
