SMK Sacred Heart lads win top placings in run

SIBU: The runners from SMK Sacred Heart Sibu made their school proud when they conquered the top three positions in the Boys Junior (7km) Category of ‘Jubilee Park Sarawak Health Marathon 2012’, held at held at Jubilee Park here yesterday.

The trios are Collymore Tang who won the top placing while Jacky Sia secured the second place and Low Jian in third place.

In the Girls Junior (7km) Category, Pretty James from SMK Kanowit won the top placing with Dorlin also from SMK Kanowit in second place and Nancy of SMK St Elizabeth in third place.

Leong Bee Voon from Kuching emerged champion in the Men’s Open Category (21km) while the second place was won by Kaliani also from Kuching with Dordin from Perak in third place.

WELL DONE : Vincent Lau handing over the prize to the champion in the Men’s Open Category, Leong while others look on.

In the Ladies Open Category (21km), Ho Siew Hua from Miri was the first to touch the finishing line while her toughest rival, Ling Mee Eng from Sibu Marathon Sports Club came in  second and Hii Yieng Nyuk also from Sibu Marathon Sports Club won the third place.

In the Men’s Veteran Category (7km), Lee Kim Hing from Sibu Marathon Sports Club emerged champion after defeating his two closest rivals, Wan Bakari Wan Ismail and Junaidi Abang who were both from Kuching.

Choo Ngiik Hung also from Sibu Marathon Sports Club emerged champion in the Ladies Veteran Category (7km) with Linda Ho from Kuching in second place and Teresa Wong from Sibu Marathon Sports Club in third place.

The chief executive officer of Ta Ann Holdings Berhad, Dato Wong Kuo Hea flagged-off the run.

The chairman of Sibu Marathon Sports Club, Tang Kah Seng was also present.

Later, guest-of-honour Temenggong Vincent Lau Lee Ming officiated at the closing cum prizes presentation ceremony.

The run was jointly organised by Sibu Marathon Sports Club and Sibu Municipal Council. The police and Sibu Red Cresent Society assisted during the event.

The event main sponsor was Ta Ann Holdings Berhad and Dato Wong Kuo Hea.
