Man jailed for possessing drug

LAHAD DATU: A 25-year-old local man was sentenced to 18 months’ jail by the Magistrate’s Court here for having 0.04 gram of Methamphetamine.
Mohd Din Bin Middin pleaded guilty to committing the offence on October 16, last year at the Lahad Datu town area.
Sessions Court judge M Rajalingam who sat as a magistrate, convicted the accused under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drug Act and punishable under Section 12 (3) of the same act.
Inspector Mohd Hafizi while prosecuting, told the court that the accused was arrested after he handed a plastic packet containing crystal powder believed to be Methamphetamine and foils, to the police.
The court ordered the accused to serve his sentence from the date of arrest.
