MIRI: Educating the young and preparing them for globalisation is not an easy task for teachers.

Sibuti MP Ahmad Lai Bujang said teachers faced a heavy responsibility of guiding as well as educating students to be prepared for future challenges.

“To ensure their wards are successful, I admit is not an easy task for teachers,” he said during Teacher’s Day gathering for Suai Zone, 2012 held recently at Dynasty Hotel.

More than 100 staffs and teachers involving six primary schools under the zone took part in the celebration organised by Suai Zone Headmasters Council and chaired by SK Sg Sebatu headmaster Andara Salleh.

Moreover, according to Ahmad Lai, the hard work and endless effort put in by teachers in ensuring their students succeed academically to obtain a bright future, is priceless.

“Teachers being part of the community have families and are parents to their children. In the classroom they are the parents to their students.”

“Their double responsibilities obviously need a high level of courage, perseverance, patience, energy, time as well as sincerity in carrying out the task,” he added.

At the same event, Ahmad Lai announced an allocation of RM3,000 to the organiser.

Among the activities held during the celebration were karaoke competition and lucky draw.
