KUCHING: The third Chinese Primary Schools Chinese Chess competition is to be held tomorrow at Chung Hua Middle School No.1’s school hall where 20 schools from Kuching and Samarahan divisions are expected to compete in the event which is on from 8am to 4.30pm.
The event is organised by Chung Hua Middle School No.1 Alumni Association (Kuching Youth) in collaboration with the school’s chess club and Kuching Chinese Chess Association.
According to their press statement, the event is aimed to promote healthy activities amongst students and promote Chinese traditional culture in which the players will also have the opportunity to meet others and exchange ideas. The champion will receive a trophy and RM100 cash, the first runner up will receive a trophy and RM80 cash while the third prize is a trophy and RM50 cash and the fourth prize is a trophy and RM20 cash.
There will 20 consolation prizes to be won for the participants who are required to register by 7.30pm in their proper school uniform.
