KUANTAN: Pahang will not face any problem hosting the Sukma this year despite a postponement in the date of completion of infrastructure facilities from May 28 to June 20.
The change in the date is not expected to hinder preparations for the championship’s 15th edition to be held from July 7 to 16.
Pahang Sukma secretariat chief executive officer Ahmad Hairi Hussain said several factors, including erratic weather, had slowed down construction work.
Sukma 2012, involving 24 events with 693 gold medals up for grabs, will be held in Kuantan, Pekan and Temerloh. — Bernama
